What happens in the Validation phase?

Step two is a two to three month research phase which will investigate the product and market context of those proposals that have been short listed. The aim of this step is to validate the proposals in detail and develop a 'Product Development Specification'.

Who funds the Validation phase?

Your company or those leading organisations putting forward a proposal will be responsible for funding the validation phase. The cost of developing the Product Development Specification will vary for each proposed project, and those companies that have been short listed will be advised on this cost through consultation before initiating step two.

What is a Product Development Specification?

The Product Development Specification (PDS) is a detailed document that defines the framework and development strategy for each individual project, along with the market, design, production, business, and budget requirements. The PDS will be produced during the Validation phase for each proposal selected to proceed into step two.

What is the intended time frame for each phase?
