From Validation to Action
All 6 projects that moved to the Validation phase have been approved and will now move into the ‘Action’ phase of their project.
After a rigorous evaluation the Management Investement Committee at the Foundation for Research Science and Technology approved the projects to proceed to contract. These companies will all be starting their development projects over the next few months.
The successful companies are as follows:
- Levana Textiles - 'Encircle' - Non-invasive Compression Technology
- Jaedon Enterprises & Manukau Knitting Mills - 'Protex' - Technical Chainsaw Protective Wear
- Designer Textiles - 'Modus' - Sustainable Merino Shrink-Resist Treatment
- South Canterbury Textiles - 'Repose' – Easycare Sleepwear
- Maxwell Rodgers - 'Lave' – Machine Washable Bedthrows
- Zephyr Technology - 'BioHarness' – Fabric Sensing Technology
These projects represent a wide cross-section of industry and company profiles with some interesting niche markets with global potential.

Time to Validate
A total of six innovative projects have now been selected to proceed into step three: Validation. Proposals put forward by Levana Textiles, Jaedon Enterprises and Manukau Knitting Mills, Designer Textiles, Zephyr Technology, South Canterbury Textiles, and Maxwell Rodgers Fabrics have been selected through close alignment with the goals of this year's initiative. These projects represent exciting new opportunities for the New Zealand Textiles Industry and work is underway to generate a robust developmental framework and Project Development Specification (PDS) to ensure each project has the best possible chance of success.

Sixty Two Becomes Ten
Transform received eighty expressions of interest, sixty two detailed proposals and has now arrived at a shortlist of ten proposals. The shortlist has been determined by ranking proposals against the assessment criteria followed by detailed evaluation by the External Advisory Panel comprised of technical and industry experts. All lead organisations are being contacted and informed about the status of your proposal within Transform.
Thanks again to everyone who has put forward a proposal; your endorsement of this initiative is helping establish more developmental programs for the future benefit of the industry.

Into Selection
Thank you to all of those organizations that have put forward a detailed proposal. A wide range of proposals were received from all sectors of the industry.
These proposals will be reviewed and shortlisted companies contacted individually for further information if required. The final project selection will be notified prior to the end of February.

Detailed Project Proposals
Textiles New Zealand is now requesting companies that have registered there interest to fill in and return a Detailed Proposal Form. This form will provide Textiles New Zealand with more specific information about your proposal. Forms are being sent out to all companies and can be downloaded below. Closing date for this form is the 2 nd February.

Final Days to Register
Textiles New Zealand has received a wide range of proposals and registrations of interest since the release of the RFP. The cut off date for proposal outlines and registrations of interest is the 15 th of January, so there is still time to submit an idea.
Detailed proposal forms for those that have already submitted proposal outlines will be due by the end of January. Contact the transform team for further information.

'Take the first step to Transform' booklet released
Textiles New Zealand has released 'Take the first step to Transform', a booklet outlining the Transform initiative. The booklet is calling for proposals from companies, technology providers and industry partners, for new product development projects.

Green light to 'Transform'
Textiles New Zealand and its board of directors today approved the launch of 'Transform' , a new initiative aimed at providing an effective developmental framework and the financial assistance for individual companies and industry partners to co-operate, and create innovative export oriented products.
